Free Screening of Obama in Ghana Documentary Coming to Convention Center

This event was submitted to us by filmmaker Tony Regusters:

Next Thursday, September 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the DC Convention Center, participants in this year’s Congressional Black Caucus Week will attend a free screening of Obama in Ghana: The Untold Story – an award-winning documentary that captures in vivid and exquisite detail the full panoply of African elegance surrounding President Obama’s visit to Ghana and the incredible reception he and the First Family received in Ghana.  Just six months after his inauguration the President and First Family made another kind of history with their state visit to Africa in July of 2009, selecting the Republic of Ghana as the Administration’s first visit to Sub-Saharan Africa.

The film explores the preparations, the pageantry and politics of a unique and transformational moment in African world history: the first-ever visit, by the first-ever African American President of the United States to Sub-Saharan Africa!  Untold Stories Productions and One World New media are proud to present Obama in Ghana: The Untold Story as part of this year’s Congressional Black Caucus Week programming.

A panel discussion following the film screening will include the filmmaker: veteran Washington, DC broadcast news (CNN, CNN International, BET and WUSA TV9 News) producer Tony Regusters, and the film’s executive producers: Dr. Erieka Bennett and Keith Hunter, M.D., and others.
