Looking for a New Taste? Try to Dukem's Ethiopian Food on U Street
Restaurants

Widely regarded as the top Ethiopian restaurant in the District, Dukem in the U Street Corridor keeps their customers coming back for more.

Dukem, located at 1114-1118 U Street in NW, has seperated itself from the pack because of its authentic Ethiopian flavors.

"A D.C. favorite, Dukem’s food is deliciously spicy, bolder than many other Ethiopian restaurants that seem to tone it down for the masses," Metromix wrote in their Dukem restaurant review.  "The variety of vegetarian options is a popular draw, as are the Dukem special tibs, cubed lamb or beef fried with “special sauce.” It’s usually busy and they often run out of things, such as Ethiopian beer and the sambusa appetizer, but Dukem is a widely recognized as having some of the best Ethiopian food in the country."

There's live music almost every night, and Dukem is even open late.  Dukem's hours are Sunday-Thursday 11 a.m.-2 a.m. and Friday-Saturday 11 a.m.-3 a.m..
