This story comes to us from Shrita D. Sterlin:
Tonight, Tuesday, September 27 from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., artwork by internationally acclaimed Neo-Pop Artist Romero Britto, described as the Andy Warhol of our time, will be featured for the first time ever in the nation’s capital at Skynear Designs Gallery—a design-studio store known for its surreal art, eclectic pieces and high fashion. This fall, Britto will make his Washington, DC debut in the new Skynear + Britto Gallery in Adams Morgan, where a cubist-inspired collection of Britto’s original art, fine art prints and functional art will be on permanent display. Britto’s work has graced galleries and museums across five continents in cities including Barcelona, Stockholm, New York, Miami, Berlin and London.
Skynear Designs Gallery is the official Washington, DC Gallery for Romero Britto. The new Skynear + Britto exhibition will also feature expressionist paintings from the renowned southwestern painter Skynear from the western branch of the Skynear family; artwork by Mark Behme, best known for his surrealist, hand-carved sculptural pieces and guitars; and one of a kind monotypes by Claudia Mengel, an accomplished expressionist painter and printmaker.
Guests will be treated to an evening of fine art and wines from around the world, presented by the award-winning AM Wine Shoppe. This event is free and open to the public.
Skynear Designs Gallery is located at 2122 18th Street in Northwest.
