Backpacks Collected For D.C. Area Homeless Children At FedEx Field Tonight!

Operation Backpack, an initiative that collects and distributes backpacks filled with school supplies to homeless shelters, wraps up tonight at the Redskins vs. Buccaneers preseason game on Wednesday.

The Redskins Charitable Foundation together with the non-profit, Volunteers of America Chesapeake are preparing area homeless students the tools necessary to excel in school with this drive.

“One of the most devastating consequences of homelessness is the impact it has on children’s education,” said President of Volunteers of America Chesapeake Russell Snyder.

Collection tables and donation bins will be available outside FedEx Field at the gate entrances.
