(Washington, DC) — Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced yesterday, Sunday, March 27, a suspect has been arrested in the homicide that occurred in 1200 block of 11th Street, NW.

The launch of this youth violence reduction movement will be held at the Thurgood Marshall Center, located at 1816 12th St. NW, DC.  

Columbia Heights Shaw Family Strengthening Collaborative has received three years of federal funding to assist with strengthening and improving youth violence intervention and prevention strategies in DC.  Come learn about how you can be a part of a movement to reduce and eventually end youth violence in DC!    

Eleven Alleged MS-13 Members Indicted on Racketeering And Other Charges in Series of Violent Crimes

        Eleven alleged MS-13 members have been indicted on federal racketeering and other charges for various violent crimes throughout the Washington, D.C. area, including murders, assaults and other attacks aimed at eliminating rival gangs.


           The indictments were unsealed yesterday, Wednesday, February 9, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. They were announced by Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer of the Criminal Division, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton, U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr., Executive Associate Director James Dinkins of ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and Cathy L. Lanier, Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).


Burglary Reported on Euclid Street

A burglary was reported on the 1100 block on Euclid Street in NW on Wednesday, August 25.

There were also burglaries reported on August 25 in the following locations near the U Street Corridor and Columbia Heights:

  • The 1900 block of Q Street NW
  • The 2300 block of 15th Street NW
  • The 2300 block of Champlain Street NW
  • The 2400 block of Ontario Road NW

All of the burglaries were reported in unoccupied buildings.
