DC residents will continue to keep pressure on their congressional allies, particularly Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and challenge their opponents to free DC's local budget from congressional interference.
Thursday morning after the protest, the House Subcommittee On Oversight and Government Reform will hold an unorthodox hearing on the "fiscal sustainability" of DC's local budget, though it has been balanced for 13 consecutive years. In reference to the hearing DC Council Chairman Kwame Brown said Tuesday night, "there will never be a Control Board as long as I am Chairman of the DC Council."
